PAHRUMP, Nev., September 18, 2018 - The following report highlights several important actions taken at the Nye County Board of Commissioners meeting. The agenda numbers provide links to each item’s backup.

The county will send five proposed Community Development Block Grant to the state to see if they meet eligibility requirements for the program. Final submit decisions will be before the board on October 23. (7)
Commission approved a six-month extension for special use permits for a medical marijuana cultivation and production facility to become operational at 6041 S. Hafen Ranch Road in Pahrump (11)
Board approved a special use permit for a marijuana dispensary for the old Frazier Furniture Store on Calvada Boulevard. Permit will expire in 18 months if state does not grant a license. (12)
BoCC accepted a Assistance to Firefighters Grant of $295,759 from FEMA to purchase safety equipment for vehicles throughout the county's Department of Emergency Management. $14,787 county match required, funded from General Fund. (26)
Another grant was accepted from the Nevada Department of Public Safety Emergency Management for funding for the Nye County Multihazard Mitigation Plan Update in the amount of $103,757 with a match requirement of $26,294, funded from the general fund. (27)
